Support For Nonprofits
Following is a list of Non Profit organizations that are near and dear to my heart. Please consider giving a gift to these groups as they all navigate this new normal we are in with the pandemic of coronavirus in 2020 and beyond.
Meals on Wheels Fort Collins https://www.mealsonwheelsfc.org/
Meals on Wheels is an organization that my beloved parents both volunteered with for decades in my hometown area of Albany, Minnesota. It is a nonprofit that delivers hot meals to seniors and disabled clients five days a week. Both my Mom and Dad have recently passed away, and I desire to continue their legacy with the organization by becoming a volunteer driver as well as advocating for the great work they do.
Sky Ranch https://www.skyranchcolorado.org/
Sky Ranch Lutheran Camp has been an inspiring organization for the Winn family since both of our daughters were young. They have attended many weeks of summer camps at Sky Ranch and it has been a place of solace and peace and fun memories - for them and for my husband and I as we drop them off at camp. Each summer since 2011 we have driven up the canyon into the beauty of God's creation for a time of unplugging from day to day life and connecting with nature and the friendships that are formed. While the camp is currently closed we look forward to the day that activities can resume there. In the meantime the staff is finding new virtual ways to reach out to the youth and families of our Fort Collins area ELCA Lutheran churches, including Spirit of Joy Lutheran, which our family attends.
The Arthritis Foundation https://www.arthritis.org/
The Arthritis Foundation has been a special organization for the Winn family since 2009 when one of our daughters was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis at the age of 8. Without the Foundation as a support to our entire family we would have had a much more difficult time adjusting to the new normal of acute and chronic disease management. Thankfully, successful medicated remission was possible in our case but there is currently no cure for the 54 million Americans, including 300,000 children, who live with the life altering condition of doctor diagnosed autoimmune and autoinflammatory arthritis. I have been a long time volunteer of the Arthritis Foundation, and am currently serving in the roles of Platinum Ambassador, Local Leadership Board Member, and Colorado Advocacy Committee Co-Chair.
